It was a pretty quiet session yesterday. The major averages opened higher and spent most of the rest of the day losing those gains. All the major averages finished with little change in price. Volume was mixed, higher on the NASD and lower on the New York. Leading stocks were moderately lower on the day. The leaders index declined .41% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and well below average volume. The market didn’t do much yesterday and closed almost unchanged. There was little news yesterday that would affect the market which may have led to the quiet session. That could change next week as there are tariff talks with China this weekend and there is important inflation news as well. There will also be more earnings reports. Last week the weekly Coppock confirmed a buy signal as it continued higher after last week’s small move. That would indicate that the market has more to go on the upside. The Coppock is the best indicator I have and is right more than any other indicator I have found. That said, even the best indicators can be wrong occasionally. I am a little leery of this signal, but time will tell. Jerry
