Leaders Index 1-6-26

The market had a good session today. The major averages opened higher and after an early pullback turned around and rallied into the close. All the major averages finished near their intraday trading highs. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .65% and .94% respectively. The SPX rallied .62%. Volume was mixed, higher on the NASD and lower on the New York. Leading stocks were strong as well. The leaders index gained 2.72% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on slightly lower volume. The index has had three very strong days in a row. The market had a good session today. The major averages showed solid gains and it was widespread. Leading stocks showed strong gains as quality growth stocks outperformed the overall market. Several important market averages made new highs today, including the INDU, SPX, MID, and SOX. This is encouraging. The move was broad based as market internals were strong and the equal weighted ETFs of the major averages outperformed the averages themselves. It was a good day overall and the rally may be regaining its footing and getting stronger. Being heavily invested is the place to be. Jerry
