Leaders Index 10-20-25

The market had a strong session today. The major averages opened higher and spent the rest of the day working their way up. All the major averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained 1.37% and1.30% respectively. The SPX was higher by 1.07%. Volume was lower across the board. Leading stocks had a good day as well. The leaders index gained 2.09% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and well below average volume. The market put in a strong session today, the only thing missing was volume. The major averages showed good gains and closed strong. So far earnings are coming in good, we are heading into the thick of earnings season. TSLA and NFLX report this week and in the next two weeks there will be a flood of earnings reports, including most of the Fab 7. If the earnings reports are well received it would help the market move higher. I have said recently that the major averages have been in a consolidation after the 10/10 decline and that the way it breaks would likely foretell the direction of the market going forward. Today the major averages seem to have broken above this consolidation. It would have been better if volume had increased, but it was still very positive. Today’s action improved the overall picture, now keep your fingers crossed for good earnings reports. Jerry
