Leaders Index 4-24-25

The market put in another good session today. The major averages opened a bit higher and then climbed the rest of the day, finishing with strong gains and high in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX rallied 2.74% and 2.79% respectively. The SPX gained 2.03%. Volume was lower across the board. Leading stocks were higher as well. The leaders index gained 4.33% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market put in another good day as it built on its recent follow through. The price gains were strong and we are starting to see some attractive setups. All the major averages broke above their respective 21 day EMA’s. This moving average has ruled the charts since the bear started and breaking above it is positive. It would have been better on higher volume, but yesterday’s volume was particularly high. GOOGL reported after the close and the stock is trading higher as of this writing. I have been skeptical of this follow through since it occurred, but today’s action improved the picture. The fact that there are at least a few attractive setups out there is good as well. This may produce a tradable rally, but it is a high risk one. No matter which direction you think the market is going, we are all one Truth Social post away from taking one between the eyes. There will be no update tomorrow. Jerry
