Leaders Index 4-1-25

The market had an up and down session today but closed on an up note. The major averages opened a bit lower then rallied and sold off all day. Late strength saw all the major averages finish high in their intraday trading ranges. The NASD averages led the way with the COMPQ and the NDX gaining .87% and .82% respectively. The SPX was higher by .38%. Volume was mixed, higher on the NASD and lower on the New York. Leading stocks were mixed, but the leaders index gained 1.86% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and about average volume. After the reversal day yesterday you would like to see strong action the next day. Today the market bounced around before closing with decent gains. Volume was higher on the NASD. We will have to see if the market can continue to work its way higher, but overall it is not looking strong. Tomorrow the tariff announcements will come out and that will certainly effect the market. It will likely not be dull. Jerry
