Leaders Index 9-23-24

The market put in a mixed session today with a slightly positive trend. The major averages opened a bit higher and traded little changed all day. The major averages finished in the upper half of their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .14% and .31% respectively. The SPX was higher by .28%. Volume was lower across the board, as would be expected after Friday’s triple witching. Leading stocks were higher with the leaders index gaining .47% on the day. The index closed in the upper half of its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market pretty much treaded water today. There were small gains in the major averages on lower volume. The rally is still acting fairly well. It continues to work its way higher, but is not lighting any fires right now. We are approaching October where quite a few important market bottoms have occurred. The weekly Coppock is now very close to the zero line and will soon be in a position to signal. Maybe that would be the catalyst to get the rally really going. Right now the rally is still in effect and the market is working its way higher. Jerry
