Stealth Institutional Accumulation in GDX - March 16, 2012

Large players kept flowing money discreetly into the gold mining sector while the price of GDX didn’t show much action and stabilized around the key MS2 level (50.09). Money Flow recouped almost all of Wednesday’s fall and is now 1.75 average day away from possibly closing at or below the -1.45% oversold level that would trigger an EOD buy signal for the GDX robot. The positive divergence with price is really striking.

The multi-pivot cluster outlook is neutral and there is no new advised position. Friday being a quadruple witching options expiration day, volume is expected to be heavy and MF gyrations could be somewhat puzzling today. What will matter will be the net change at the closing bell.
