• Portfolio Management for December 5, 2017

No trade yesterday, but the tech related positions (BEAT/AAOI) experienced some volatility during the day.

We can see below that Beat opened strong and then sold for the rest of the day, while AAOI was very weak early in the day then experienced a strong buying pattern.

The real difference between these two stocks is that BEAT is under accumulation but has much to churn before old shareholders sell their shares to newer shareholders.

AAOI is comparatively attracting fewer buyers, but among the present shareholders, there is no selling pressure. Hence, the stock does not need much biying to bounce higher.

RACE is also interesting on the way down: we can see that most recent buyers are losing money and as the price goes lower, old shareholders will also want to get out before losing money.

We are at a level where most recent shareholders will have to get out before being locked in.

For now, the positions are working OK. BEAT is slightly under water, but I do not want to add here.
AAOI could be interesting if the general tech sectors bounce.

The trade ideas for the day are below. Note that in Blue are all stocks that broke down on heavy volume yesterday.
