• Portfolio Management for August 11, 2016

Since gold was stronger and the US$ weaker, I was looking at buying materials stocks, which I did at around 10:00, when I detected a positive divergence in the Money Flow of XME, the Materials ETF.

Unfortunately, the US$ strengthened, which attracted sellers on the sector. Hence, I decided to sell at break even, since the conditions changed. I do not like that type of trade, but it is better than a losing trade.

The trade ideas for today are below.

I am interested in the ideas shown in yellow. RYYAY is attracting good money (European budget airline.)

AZN and DECK look also interesting, but we need to reach the right price.

On the short side, the three ideas shown in Blue will not be executed.

SHAK missed earnings overnight and is down 10%. We can see that a short trade is workable only if the price bounces back to 39.5-40. This is far away and against the current momentum.

ABX and FNV show strong selling, but they are not as overbought as before and hence, stats do not show a good entry point here.
