• Portfolio Management for September 21, 2015

Last Friday, I tried a new QLIK long that did not work well and had to be closed when the stock pushed below the low of the previous day.

I also entered a 1/2 short XLE since the MF was rather negative.
I am not too convince about that position this is why I only put 1/2 trade and did not use ERX/ERY, whihc are leveraged ETFs.

The BLUE position is doing well and so is the TBT short.
I might cut half of the Blue long position as the stock could be slightly ahead of itself in terms of progression for the past days, but I will let EV decide for me.

One small note: you might have noticed that in the past year, I have slightly changed my investment strategy, looking at buying short-term dips (See red circles below,) while in 2013/2014, I had been mostly passive during market volatility. I intend to maintain that strategy, except if we have a new trend developing in the coming weeks.

The trade ideas for today are below.

GDX is a Breakout on Volume type of idea. It is extended here and I would prefer to buy it on a pullback, but the only positive stats are for a breakout type of trade.

The portfolio is 70% invested right now. There is therefore no real urgency to commit more money.
I will simply cat if I see clear opportunities.
