• Portfolio Management for July 23, 2014

As planned, I closed the TBT long position yesterday.

The long MYGN started the day OK, but then reversed back down. It does not look good in a market that was broadly positive. MYGN is now at the $37 strong support. If it breaks, then I will respect the stop.

For today, the stock selection detected more long than short candidates (in yellow below). I am not too positive about the market, though, so I will try not to be too extended on the long side. On the short side, I might prefer to use a liquid ETF such as ERX or SPXL to short the market. Indeed, many stocks in the list below have yet to publish earnings; they carry a specific risk.

The portfolio gains and stats are still doing fine for now.
Mike's Alert system is progressing well, and my guess is that free trials could start as soon as next week and run until September.
