• Portfolio Management for November 12, 2013

Yesterday, the 20DMF was somewhat neutral, but ended very close to reversing its signal.
This means that entering shorts now is not interesting unless launched from well within the short zone.
In the stock selections, the only shorting candidates are two silver miners, both at prices outside their best shorting range. I will not even look at these stocks today.

On the other hand, the list of long stocks looks interesting. Yesterday, I bought IQNT, and I plan to buy ASPS today, since it is in its buy zone.

Hi Pascal... could you please clarify: on 12 Nov 10.31:48 we go from short to cash - the 20DMF is hitting 0,112. This is clear. Today (13 Nov) a message is given that we 'enter cash' and 'cover short position' - the 20DMF is at the time of the message (12:22) 0,282. From your first message we have already covered shorts and entered cash. thx. ses

There is a confusion between the EOD 20DMF and the RT 20DMF. These are two different algos.
The EOD 20DMF turned cash at the close of yesterday. This model only acts at the close of the day.

The RT 20DMF also crossed above the +0.11% porosity level yesterday, but too late for everyone to act. Even the stock selection system could not act to close the positions. Hence, the 20DMF RT restarted this morning in a short mode and had to wait until there was a confirmed reversal to a cash position.

The EOD 20DMF booked a small loss of -1.18%, while the RT 20DMF booked a loss of -0.95%
The models are entirely automatic models and so are the e-mail messages that are sent.

The only manual aspect is the portfolio management, which reflects my own positions.
The portfolio management is entirely manual, but the stocks are selected only from the daily list.
I sometime combine long/short positions and almost always enter trades deeper in the buy zone, because that way I can keep tight stops and I have a better average return. However, I am often under-invested.

I only have two long positions: NOK and IQNT.
