It was a quiet session today and little of any consequence happened. The major averages opened flat and went sideways for the rest of the session. The COMPQ finished with a gain of .14% while the SPX lost .02%. The COMPQ closed in the upper half of it’s intraday trading range while the SPX closed in the lower half of it’s trading range. Volume was lower across the board and below average on both exchanges. Leading stocks did better than the overall market with the leaders index gaining .36% on the day. It closed near the top of it’s trading range on almost non existent volume. The chart of the new index looks solid and it is rising above it’s short term 9dma. The fact that the market held the gains of the last two days by finishing flat is good. If it can maintain this it has a chance of building on it’s recent gains. Jerry
