The market had a quiet session today as it digested yesterday’s gains. After trading in a tight range the major averages closed little changed, with the COMPQ up .14% and the SPY down .01%. Volume was lower across the board, which is good when the market is consolidating gains. Leading stocks acted pretty much the same as the overall market as the leaders index closed down .21% on higher and about average volume. The index closed above it’s opening price so there is a green candle even though it declined. There isn’t really much to say about today’s quiet action. It is positive after a big advance and the rally is looking solid. The employment report comes out on Friday and might cause some volatility, but things are looking good now. Jerry
