The market got off to a strong start today but couldn't hold the gains. The major averages spent the rest of the day giving back those gains and the Nasd averages closed slightly down on the day. All the major averages closed near the lows of the day and volume declined across the board. This continued the recent action of weak volume on up days. Leading stocks did better than the overall market but still had a sloppy day. The leaders index rose .92% on slightly higher but still below average volume. The market continues to act poorly, and it looks like lower prices are ahead. Jerry
