The market had another mixed session today. The major averages opened slightly lower and traded in mostly negative territory all day. Late strength saw all the major averages finish high in their intraday trading ranges. The NASD averages were higher with the COMPQ and the NDX gaining .23% and .26% respectively. The SPX declined .24%. Volume was mixed, lower on the NASD and pretty close on the New York. Leading stocks were mixed as well but the leaders index gained .27% on the day. The index closed in about the middle of its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market muddled through today, but couldn’t get much going on the upside. The NASD averages did better as tech stocks recovered a bit. Frankly at this point the market could go either way, and I don’t know at this point which it will be. Stay invested, but keep a close eye on the exit if things weaken much more. Jerry
