The market put in another solid session today, but not as strong as yesterday. The major averages opened higher and mostly worked their way up the rest of the session. Late selling saw the major averages close off their highs, but the NASD averages still closed high in their intraday trading ranges. The New York averages finished in about the middle of their trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .80% and .74% respectively. The SPX was higher by .23%. Volume was mixed, higher on the New York and slightly lower on the NASD. Leading stocks were mixed on the day. The leaders index gained .57% on the session. The index closed in about the middle of its trading range on lower and well below average volume. The market put in another overall positive session today, although it was not as strong as yesterday. The major averages showed good gains and all made new all time highs. The charts of the major averages are very strong, although may be getting a little extended short term. Market internals were actually lower today and the equal weighted ETFs were lower. The rally remains on solid ground, although it would be better to see market internals improve. Tomorrow starts a round of potentially market moving earnings reports, a Fed announcement and the trade talks. The Fed announcement is likely baked in, so the earnings reports and the trade talks are the critical items. Hopefully they will be market friendly. I will be away for a few days. The updates will resume next Tuesday. Jerry
