The market had another volatile but overall positive session today. The major averages opened higher, but lost most of the early gains. Late buying came in and all the major averages finished in the upper half of their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .66% and .68% respectively. The SPX was higher by .40%. Volume was mixed, higher on the NASD and lower on the New York. Leading stocks were higher as well. HGSI has not updated their data yet, but my tracking of the index shows a gain of 1.30% on the day. The market had a positive session overall today, but it got a little hairy for a bit. There was more China trade talk from the Treasury secretary that caused some selling, but the market recovered a bit later in the day. The market showed some resilience by regaining some ground late to close in the upper half of its trading range. Market internals were solid today and the equal weighted ETFs of the COMPQ and the SPX also did well. The earnings reports so far have been pretty good and have probably helped the market. Overall the rally remains on solid ground and baskets of leading stocks continue to do well. Being invested is the place to be, but it would be helpful is everyone would shut up about tariffs. Jerry
