The market took a break and pulled back a bit in today’s action. The major averages opened mixed and then selling came in and they declined most of the rest of the day. All the major averages finished low in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX fell .95% and .73%. The SPX lost .55%. Volume was slightly higher across the board. This produced new distribution on all the major averages. Leading stocks were mixed on the day. Some ETFs of leading growth stocks sold off, but the leaders index gained .29% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market took a break today after its recent run to new highs. The declines weren’t to big today, especially in relation to the recent advance. We saw distribution today but the overall count remains moderate. There are some issues you could take with the current market, but the truth is the rally remains on solid ground and continues to work its way higher. You shouldn’t argue with a rising market, but this rally has been going on for a while, so at least keep an eye on the exits. Jerry
