The market has continued to work its way higher today. The major averages opened a bit lower and then spent the rest of the session working their way higher. All the major averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .70% and .55%. The SPX rallied .44%. Volume was lower across the board, as you would expect after an expiration day on Friday. Leading stocks were higher as well. The leaders Index gained .83% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower but above average volume. This is a new high for the index on both a price and a relative strength basis. The market continued to rally in the last couple of days. All the major averages made new highs on the day and closed strong. Volume fell, but you can’t really compare it to expiration day volume. Market internals were about flat today and this is something that must be watched. The advance decline line of the New York exchange has not made a new high in about a week. If this continues there could be a divergence that is usually a negative sign. Right now the market is acting well. The rally is on solid ground and it looks like it isn’t finished yet. Jerry
