The market staged a nice rally today. After opening higher the major averages rallied a bit then held the gains the rest of the day. Late buying saw all the major averages finish high in their intraday trading ranges. The NASD averages led the way with the COMPQ and the NDX gaining .94% and .84% respectively. The SPX was higher by .47%. Volume was mixed, higher on the New York and slightly lower on the NASD. Leading stocks had a strong session as well. The leaders index gained 1.80% on the day. The index closed in the upper half of its trading range on slightly lower and below average volume. The market put in a solid up session today. All the major averages made new highs on the session, along with strength in leading growth stocks. Market internals were positive today and the advance decline line is also making new highs. This was good action ahead of the Fed announcement on Wednesday. The market is acting well right now and being heavily invested is the place to be. Jerry
