The market continued to work its way higher today. The major averages opened a bit lower and then made a bottom and made its way higher the rest of the day. All the major averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .21% and .17% respectively. The SPX was higher by .24%. Volume was lower across the board. Leading stocks were lower on the day. The leaders index fell 1.11% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on very low volume. The index held its short term moving averages. The market had an overall positive session today while it waited for NVDA’s earnings. The major averages rallied moderately and closed strong. Volume was lighter, but that is not surprising given the circumstance. NVDA’s report came out and it apparently didn’t beat by enough and the stock is trading slightly lower in afterhours trading, as of this writing. It appears that the rally won’t get a boost from the earnings, but it is not getting hit either. The stock is holding up pretty well. This pretty much does it for the really important earnings reports. The rally is still pretty much on track and should continue to work its way higher. The PCE report comes out tomorrow and that could affect the market if it deviates from expectations. Jerry
