The market took a break yesterday as the major averages sold off a bit. The major averages opened lower and traded in negative territory the rest of the day. All the major averages finished low in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX fell .29% and .51% respectively. The SPX declined .29%. Volume was lower across the board. Leading stocks declined as well. The leaders index was about flat with a loss of only .04%, while other ETFs of leading stocks were lower. The index closed high in its trading range on about flat and very low volume. The market was mildly lower yesterday as it consolidated its recent gains in a pretty constructive fashion. Market internals were negative , but only by a bit. The market has come a good distance in a short period of time and is due for a rest. So far it is acting pretty well. We are in a seasonally weak period and could see some more weakness in the short term, but the rally remains on solid ground. Jerry
