The market put in a solid up session yesterday. The major averages opened higher and mostly worked their way up the rest of the day. All the major averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges. The NASD averages led the way with the COMPQ and the NDX gaining .98% and .95% respectively. The SPX was higher by .78%. Volume was lower across the board, not unusual for a Friday in the summer. Leading stocks were higher as well with the leaders index gaining .33% on the day. The index closed in about the middle of its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market continued to work its way higher, with the NASD averages making new highs and the New York averages close behind. Leading stocks are also doing pretty well with the leaders index also at new highs. The are some conflicting signals out there, but the market is acting pretty well overall and being invested is the place to be. Jerry
