The market put in another solid session today. The major averages opened a little higher and after a some weakness spent the rest of the day working their way up. All the major averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .61% and .43% respectively. The SPX rallied .78%. Volume was higher across the board. Leading stocks rallied as well. The leaders index gained 1.34% on the day. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and below average volume. The market rallied nicely today in front of its earnings reports. The earnings reports came in ok and the futures are a bit higher as of this writing. The major averages posted solid gains and closed strong. Volume was also higher. All the major averages made new closing highs on the day. The small and mid-cap averages also participated nicely as did the equals weighted ETFs. Leading stocks are doing well but the leaders index has lagged a bit lately. There are still a lot of important earnings and economic reports coming out in the next couple of weeks that could affect the market, but right now things look pretty good. Jerry
