The market put in another overall positive session today. The major averages opened higher and mostly held the gains the rest of the day. The NASD averages finished high in their intraday trading ranges while the New York averages closed in about the middle of their trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .31% and .17% respectively. The SPX was higher by .09%. Volume was higher across the board. Leading stocks were flat to mostly lower on the day. The leaders index was lower by .80% on the session. The index closed high in its trading range on lower and below average volume. The index traded below but held its short term 9dma. The market was moderately higher today in an overall solid session. The major averages made new highs for the move on higher volume. This is encouraging action. Leading stocks mostly took a breather today, but they have mostly done very well recently. The market has come a long way in a pretty short period of time and some sort of consolidation or pullback would not be unexpected, but the market overall looks like it wants to go higher. Jerry
