The market bounced around today before closing with moderate gains. The major averages opened mixed and after rallying and selling off finished with some gains. The Nasd averages were the strongest with the Nasd averages finishing high in their intraday trading ranges. The New York averages closed in the upper half of their trading ranges. The COMPQ and the NDX gained .28% and .30% respectively. The SPX was higher by .10%. Volume was higher across the board. Leading stocks were moderately lower with the leaders index falling .49% on the day. The index closed in about the middle of its trading range on slightly higher volume. The market continued to digest recent gains in a pretty orderly fashion. The major averages showed moderate gains while leading stocks took a well deserved rest. The market is still acting well. The COMPQ and the SPX are close to their highs last June before the intermediate correction that ended in late October began. The NDX has already overcome this level. The rally is acting well and for now it looks good until at least the end of the year. Jerry
