The market had a fairly quiet session today with the major averages ending up mixed but little changed. After some early strength the major averages worked their way lower until some late selling came in and they all finished near their intraday trading lows. The Nasd averages had small gains with the COMPQ and the NDX higher by .13% and .03% respectively. The SPX declined .11%. Volume was slightly higher across the board. It rose 1.66% on the New York and 2.17% on the Nasd, according to Esignal. Leading stocks were generally higher as well. The leaders index was higher by only .01% as it had a couple of components sell off. There were other growth stock ETF’s that did better. The index closed just below its 17dma and closed high in its trading range. Volume was lower and below average. The market was little changed today but had a slightly positive bias. Early modest gains didn’t hold and some selling came in. The market is holding up pretty well after making modest highs and the overall direction still seems to be up. Jerry
